Jan was raised in Wichita, where she graduated Valedictorian of Maize High School. She went on to attend Wichita State University and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.
In 1979, she moved with her husband Herb and their daughters to Kingwood, Texas.
Some of her most cherished activities over the years were; singing in the church choir, playing tennis, making stained glass artwork, playing the piano and guitar, singing with Sweet Adeline's choir, playing card games, and volunteering at the animal shelter.
She was known for her caring nature, quick wit, and love for dogs. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with her grandsons. Jan loved her family and the numerous friendships she made in her lifetime.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Mann; parents, Jess and Erma Shade; sister, Beverly Neil; and sister-in-law, Lois Mann.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise Faulkner and husband, Tom, daughter, Julie Mann-Jones; grandsons, Eric and Kyle Faulkner and Mason Shade Jones. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Jim Mann; sister-in-law, Linda Mann; her nieces and nephews, Kim Legion, Mike Seeley, Kristen Piche, Susan Mann, Barbara Prater, David Mann, Randy and Scott Tewell, and Ryan Pozzi.
A memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 10 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m.
