Jane Ann (White) Cless, 90, passed away at Presbyterian Manor, Wichita. Jane was born and raised in Salina, KS. , the only child of Webster James and Opal (Woodard) White. She attended Kansas State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Gene Cless from Hutchinson, KS. Together they raised 2 sons, Stephen Eugene and Gary Craig Cless.
Life took them to Roswell, New Mexico, Prairie Village, Kansas, Saginaw, Michigan, and finally Wichita, Kansas. It was their beloved Kansas City, where they spent their best years. Jane was a den leader when her sons were of Boy Scout age and was very instrumental in both her sons attaining their Eagle Rank.
Jane and Gene both shared a passion for youth baseball and Jane worked for many years as office manager with Johnson County 3&2 Baseball. Many nights were spent at 3&2 supporting area teams that dad coached.
They were both avid K-State Wildcat fans and attended several bowl games through the years.
Mom was an excellent cook and took great delight in planning elaborate meals when friends and family visited. She would plan meals a month ahead and was always considering what new recipe to try out on her guests. She read cookbooks like some people read novels.
Gene passed away in 2005 so 2 years later we decided to move her to Wichita to be closer to her children. Over time, her memory began to decline until she passed away on February 13th.
Jane is survived by her 2 sons Steve and Gary, 2 daughters-in law, Leann (Schulte) Cless and Kim (Grey) Cless, 5 grandchildren, Bryan, Nathan, Amanda, Dustin and Adam Cless and 8 great-grandchildren.
