James Lee McMillan

He grew up on a farm in Plymell Community, south of Garden City. He attended school in Garden City through high school. He went to Hutchinson Junior College and then on to Washburn University to study Law.

He was in Future Farmers of America in high school and enjoyed cars, and growing tomatoes. He moved to Denver and lived in the Columbine State for a time. While living in Denver, he began racing horses. But he was a traveler at heart, moving to San Francisco, and eventually began a truck driving career that would take him all over the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn Hoover; brothers, Keith, Don, and Ted McMillan; and nephew, Robert McMillan.

He is survived by his nieces, Rita Kay Shagelman, Janet Smith and Kathy Krause; nephews, David, Bill, Steve, Danny, Rodney and Randy McMillan; and many great-nephews and nieces, and loving friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery 1640 N. Maize Rd., Wichita, KS 67212.
