Rev. Ima Jean Butler, 89, went into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Born April 9, 1924 in Verdigris, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Albert and Stella (Neal) Dorsey. She lived and grew up in Verdigris, OK, and graduated from Verdigris High School. She also graduated from Southwestern University in Waxahachie, TX and Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. Ima Jean married Wes Butler on June 2, 1950, the same year they were both ordained as Assemblies of God ministers. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2010. She served with her husband in pastorates for 60 years in various states. Ima Jean was an ordained Assemblies of God minister for 63 years.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son and daughter Roger E. and Rebecca S. Butler, her parents Albert and Stella Dorsey; brothers Arnold “Jody” Dorsey, Wayne Dorsey and sisters Rema Dorsey Scott and Wanda Dorsey Dalton. She is survived by her daughter Roberta (Marty) Gould, Haysville; son Kevin (Jennifer) Butler, Winfield; grandchildren Jeremy Gould, Brandon (Rachel) Gould, Chad (Nonie) Gould, step- granddaughters: Kaitlyn and Kim Pitchford and 9 great grandchildren, brothers Rev. Buford “Boot” Dorsey, Rev. Donald (Norma) Dorsey, Albert “Chick” Neal (Ellen) Dorsey, Jr., Billy (Lavern) Dorsey, sister-in-law June Dorsey all of Oklahoma. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8pm, Thursday, January 2, 2014, at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic. Funeral services at 1pm, Friday, January 3, 2014, at Bethel Life Center, 3777 S. Meridian, Wichita, Kansas.
