Hubert “Clarke” Wadley, age 84, passed away on December 10, 2021, at the Brookdale’s Assisted Living / Dementia Care Facility in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on March 30, 1937, to Hubert and Mae Wadley in Wichita, Kansas. Clarke was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by many.
After graduating from East High School in 1955, he attended Pepperdine University on scholarship and quickly realized his heart’s desire, was to return home to Wichita to marry his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Peggy Hamm. Clarke attended Wichita State University and then followed his dreams to work in his family-owned Real Estate and appraisal business, The Wadley Company, Inc. After many successful business years, he found his talents lied in sales, appraisals, and rental properties; and opened The Clarke Wadley Appraisal Company for 55 years.
Clarke had a deep love for the Lord, his church, his family and friends and Peggy’s homemade cookies and pies. He also had a deep love for all animals, especially his dogs. Clarke served as a devoted member and Deacon for most of his life in the Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoors-man and enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating on Tablerock Lake.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Peggy Wadley; their three children, Dane (Jennifer) Wadley, Mindy Callison and Lori Zugelder; his only brother, Duane (Carol) Wadley; six grandchildren, Tiffany (Brad) Saville, Teall (Patrick) Buckles, Lacey (David) Winkler, Dallas (Megan) Wadley, Tara (Ryan) March and Zachary Zugelder; and eleven precious great-grandchildren.
Clarke's unconditional love and compassion for God and Christianity, will forever live on in the hearts of his family and in those who he brought to the Lord.
The family would like to send their sincere thanks to Brookdale (Dementia care) and to Hospice care of Wichita, for the compassionate care given to Clarke.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Resthaven's Cemetery in the Garden Of Prayer, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
Memorial contributions in Clarke’s memory can be made to the Northside Church of Christ Television/Christian outreach program called, “Know Your Bible” at 4545 North Meridian Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67204.
