89, peacefully passed away January 23, 2018, surrounded by his five children and three granddaughters. He was born in Haiphong, Vietnam, on September 12, 1928, he then made his way to Saigon where he married the love of his life, Quyen Truong. He and Quyen raised a family of 5 children and 14 grandchildren. He was the manager of Cooper Tire in Vietnam. He retired from the Department of Children of Families, formally known as SRS. Howard was very helpful and generous man who didn’t expect anything in return. He enjoyed taking his wife, Quyen, to the casino. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Quyen Boi Truong; and his parents. He is survived by sons, Daniel Tran and Mike Tran; daughters, Brigittina Holt-Chen, Evangeline Chen-Diec and Angelina Le; sons-in-law, David Holt, Kevin Diec, and Lap Le; daughters-in-law, Cynthia Whitehead Tran and Kelly Tran; grandchildren, Samantha Tran, Stanley Tran, Shania Tran, Salene Tran, Amandine Chen, Aureline Ta, Ira Holt, Hattie Holt, Kenny Diec, Courtney Diec, Christina (Aaron) Shriver, Brian Le, Justin Le, Darren Tran, Rachel Tran and Dawson Tran. Viewing 6-9 p.m. Saturday, January 27th at Resthaven Mortuary. Funeral service 1 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 with burial following at Resthaven Mortuary and Cemetery.
