Lovett, Helen Alice, 98, retired library teacher for the Wichita school system, passed away July 2, 2015. Helen was a graduate of the Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia State University and for a time she worked as a machinist during WWII. She enjoyed volunteering at Botanica Gardens, hospice, Cheney Senior Center, and Cheney Library. She loved learning, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by parents, John and Edith Truesdell; husband, Willis M. Lovett; and siblings, Jack Truesdell, Aldine Johnson, Edwin Truesdell, Edith Braunson, Mary Jane Ussery, and Trudy May Dixon. She is survived by daughter, Cheryl Lovett; sons, Galen (Peggy) Lovett and Rodney (Amanda) Lovett; grandchildren, Karlous (Chalese) Molyneux, Thea (Chad) Lippoldt, Michael (Erica) Lovett, Haylie Lovett, Tia (Daniel) Crowder-Merrill, and Rodney Lovett Jr; and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. with funeral service following Monday, July 6 at 1:00 PM both at Resthaven Mortuary.
