Hattie Janetta Whitney 91, born October 19, 1925 in Harford, PA to Claude and Hattie Smith, passed away July 4, 2017. Hattie was a dedicated member of her church including, church ministry and mission trips with her husband, playing the organ, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She worked as an LPN and later retiring as a pharmacy technician for the VA hospital. She also enjoyed knitting and crochet. Hattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed. She was preceded by husband of 47 years, Wendell H. Whitney; son, Ronnie Whitney; and parents. She is survived by sons, Mark (Ginger) Whitney and Larry (Cathy) Whitney; daughters, Bonnie Carrell, Anita (Eugene) Young and Bethel "Beth" (Randell) Roach; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary.
