Harvey J Whitaker

Harvey J. Whitaker, 81, retired employee for KG&E passed away on July 27, 2018. Harvey served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Agerholmdd 826 ship. He was a member of Glenn Park Christian Church, enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending his grandkids events. He is preceded by his parents, Emmet and Opal Whitaker; brother, JR Whitaker and step grandson, Brandon Bentley. Harvey is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bev; son, Doug (Joanna) Whitaker; daughters, Joni (Jim) Gearhart, Dana (Don) Kerschen; sister, Joan Rethorst; grandchildren, Jerrod (Aidan) Gearhart, Jessica (Aric) St. Vrain, Joel Gearhart, Matthew (Jodie) Kerschen, Chris (Claire Devlin) Kerschen, Zachary Whitaker, Joshua Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Sayler Gearhart, Briar Gearhart, Rhyan St. Vrain; brother-in-law, David Christy and sister-in-law, Nancy Ford . Visitation will be held 1 hour prior with family. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary.
