Gerard E. Lessard, Sr., passed away peacefully on November 27 at the age of 97. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, he moved to Wichita in 2000. His beloved wife, Mary, preceded him in death in 2005. They were married for 63 years. He served in World War II in the Navy, was active in youth sports and his church. He and Mary were well known volunteers in Lincoln, RI and were once awarded an honor by the governor. He leaves two sons, Gerard E. Lessard, Jr. of Overland Park, KS and Ronald P. Lessard of Elliott City, MD. He had 5 grandchildren: Cathrine, Stefan, Cheryl, Amber and Teresa. He enjoyed the fact that he had 12 great grandchildren. A private family burial has taken place at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas. In his loving memory the family encourages donations to a homeless shelter in your local community.
