Gail was born in Oakland in 1941 to Frank and Ethel Noonan. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Lake Tahoe where Frank built a small cabin for the family. A few years later he built a larger home next to it and this time in Lake Tahoe would be her most favorite and cherished memories. She had a dog name Gypsy and together they spent their happiest days exploring the southern banks of Lake Tahoe.
The family moved to Las Vegas, when Gail started Bishop Gorman High School in 1955. This is where the small-town Kansas boy met the Las Vegas girl out drag racing cars one night on the strip in 1957. That small-town Kansas boy, Richard (Dick) Wendling was stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas when he met Gail and they soon fell in love and Married at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on January 02, 1960. They were dedicated to each other for 61 years.
Gail is survived by her husband, Richard Wendling and her little dog Shasta Daisy. Her Son and his spouse, Michael and Sheila Wendling, Her Son, Matthew Wendling, Her Grand Daughter and her spouse, Jasmine and David Linder and Great Grand Daughter Violet Linder, Her Grand Daughter and Grandson, Cassandra and Joshua Sprenkel. Gail is Preceded in death by her parent’s, Frank and Ethel Noonan.
Gail will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Funeral Home and Cemetery in the Mausoleum on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. Due to Covid it will be a private service with immediate Family members only.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that Memorial Donations be sent to Harry Hines Hospice www.hynesmemorial.org in honor of Gail Wendling.
