Frederick Wayne Adams, age 91, was born Dec. 1, 1927, in St. Johns to parents, Anthony Adams and Delisth Long Adams. Fred had 17 children in his family; 6 sisters and 10 brothers. Fred was the 15th child and grew up in Oklahoma. He left home at the age of 16 and came to Wichita. He worked for Boeing for two years, went to the Army for two years, and then returned to Boeing. He retired after 48 years in production. He married LaVeta in 1948, and they had three children; son, Larry Adams of Rose Bud AR; daughters, Cheryl Adams of Wichita, KS, and Rita Scroggins of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with one deceased, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Fred and LaVeta Square and Round danced together for 30 years. Fred lost LaVeta in 1996, and he met Joyce Sucht later. They stayed together, square danced, traveled to a lot of places. Fred truly loved dancing and went every time he could. Fred could fix just about anything around the house and always did and helped others do so too. He liked his yard to look nice. He rarely ever got mad or upset, as he was a quiet person and like to read in his retirement years. Everyone Fred met liked him and he was a Scout Master for many years. He was a smart man and could carry a good conversation, but he could be very stubborn. He had a tendency to drive fast and make U turns if he missed his turns. He and Joyce was together for 23 years and were very compatible together. He was very kind to her children and they thought he was the best. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. Fred's Visitation will be held Tues. from 5-7 p.m. and his Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Wed. Sept. 4, 2019, both at Resthaven Mortuary.
