Frank E. Wheeler, 75, Frank E. Wheeler has entered into his eternal rest on October 15th 2019. Frank was born in Minn. MN to Doris and Chuck Bailey. He was married to the love of his life Susan on August 30th, 1969. They had two lovely children, Heather Spencer and Benjamin E. Wheeler. Frank joined the Air Force in 1961 as a flight specialist and served in the Vietnam War as a Medic. He served his country faithfully for 8 years with his final rank as a Sergeant. Frank graduated with his Nursing Diploma from St. Joseph's Hospital in 1975 and later his Bachelors degree from WSU. After his service Frank continued serving veterans here at home at the Robert J. Dole VA Hospital for 29 years. He received The Excellence in Nursing Award in 2013 for his continued service to Kansas. Frank loved serving veterans, his time with Boy Scouts of America, Midian Oriental Band, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family. He is also survived by brother Robert Younger; sister; Annie (Eric) Fanberg; grandchildren; Willow (Kurt) Mermis, Nathanael E. Broz, Abbigail Broz, and Jaylenn E. Wheeler; great-grandchildren; Corey White, and Nova White; niece; Traci (Mark) Lebrun Pine City, MN; Nephews; J.R. Fanberg, Shawn Fanberg, and Matt (Kira) Fanberg MN. Memorial contributions in honor of Frank can be made to The Shriners Children's Hospital and/or Robert J. Dole Veterans TLC and Hospice/ Palliative Care Unit. A memorial service is to be held at 2 pm on October 25th 2019 at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.
