Minx, Esther Gordon Vorse, 87, our beloved mother passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s. She lived a full and exciting life. She graduated from Topeka High where she was appointed to Girl’s State and active with Chorale Society. She married Carl Leland Vorse and became a war bride settling back in Topeka. Later they moved to Wichita, KS. She began a career with Kice Metal Products in 1969 until her retirement in 1990. She started as a receptionist; the first woman employed there, and rose up to the board of directors. She loved her time there and made life long friends. She also made many friends at First United Methodist Church where she was involved in the choir which she dearly loved. She married Garth Minx and they later divorced. Her best accomplishment was her family. Her family will deeply miss her sweet disposition, kindness and wisdom. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Andover Assisted Court, Claire Bridge and Good Shephard Hospice for their wonderful and loving care. Surviving are children, Ron Vorse (Wilma) of Joplin, Carol Khan of Andover and Nanci Titus (Dennis) of Wichita; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Irma Thomas, Topeka, KS and Dorothy Miles of Northridge CA., many nephews and nieces. Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday Hillside Funeral Home West; funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday, Greenwood Cemetery Chapel. In honor of her love of animals, memorials may be given to PALS
