.Jordan Sr., Ernest Allyn “Ernie”, 95, retired USDA Poultry/Egg Inspector, passed away April 7, 2011. Ernie was born in the Morgan House, Peabody, KS February 18, 1916. He was raised on a farm west of Wichita and moved to town in 1927. On February 1, 1937, he married Doris Irene Holman to whom he was married for 64 years. Ernie also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His career in the egg industry began at the age of 13, self-employed for most of his life, until retiring after 21 years with the USDA. He lived in Wichita, Hutchinson, Cheney and Bonne Terre, MO. Ernie and Doris were members of Hyde Park Church until relocating to Bonne Terre with the USDA. Growing up on the family farm, Dad developed a love for gardening which continued throughout his life. Later, he enjoyed caring for the gardens and grounds of the First Congregational Church in Hutchinson. He was a coach for the West Urban Little League baseball organization. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents, Ernest G. and Ivy A. (Morgan) Jordan; brother, William; sisters, Rebecca A. (Bair) and Netta C. (Bair); grandson, P. Marc Corrie; great-grandson, J.T. “Jack” Corrie and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth N. Mangram. He is survived by his children, Allyn (Judy), Lynn Bucher, Mike (Pat), Pam (Cecil) Parrack, Steve (Christine Lebert), David (Kathy) and Kathy (Steve) Corrie; nieces and nephews of the Bair families, Chuck (Sue), James (Linda), Rick (Alice), Orval (Jan), Duane (Martha), Elsie and Robyn; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, Kendall Grace. Viewing 12-8 p.m. Monday with family present 6-7 p.m.; funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday both at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ernest A.
