Without apology, Elizabeth Ann Lowe “Liz” of Wichita, KS left us on October 10, 2022, at the age of 83. Though born in Decatur, Al she traveled and lived in other states during her lifetime finally settling in Wichita, KS.
Though, her passing was expected, it still came as a surprise as she had a true love of her family and her life. She is leaving behind her dear sister, Janet Sue Smith and spouse, Gary “Duke” Smith; beloved brother, Sherman “Bud” Milton Lemmond (the “A” baby) and spouse, Marvinelle Lemmond; son, Jeffrey Thomas Lowe and daughter, Teri Lynn Taylor. It is comforting to know that she will now be with the many who have predeceased her including her Mother, Mildred Faye Lemmond, Father, Howard Mason Lemmond, Grandson, Charles Wayne “C.W.” Coen and last but not least, her Husband, Charles H. Lowe.
For a woman of her generation, she was an accomplished woman with firm beliefs and opinions. She not only graduated from Cosmetology school but went on to be a small business owner with her partner, Eddibeth Walsberg, another who passed before her. She pursued this profession until her time of retirement. She modeled for a local clothing store from her mid to late 70s!
She was a woman who loved many things but the love of her grandson, C.W. was well known as he spent much of his time with her and his grandfather Charlie. He too returned this love to the point as a toddler he would have to be hauled away kicking and screaming, “No, No, I don’t want Teeeeri! No grandma, granny, NO! Not Teeeri!”
She had a great enjoyment of life with many likes and hobbies. Though this list is not complete or necessarily in order: she loved doing hair; arranging flowers; movie stars/musicians (Elvis); movie magazines; chocolates, sewing; her church, Tyler Road Baptist and all its members; her friend, Kandy Barlow (who doesn’t love Kandy?); Charles’ fellow automobile enthusiasts; Siamese cats; diamonds, diamonds, diamonds (did I say diamonds?); coffee; shopping and going out to eat; her family; her siblings; and, most of all her husband, Charles H. Lowe, Jr.
Do not be sad about her passing, see her as I do. Sitting on a chaise, restored to her youth, reading a movie magazine, drenched in diamonds with coffee and chocolates close by, a Siamese cat on her lap and being interrupted by Charlie whose talking about cars.
The family would like to thank Comfort Care Homes of Kansas for the excellent care they gave her during the final years of her life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Tyler Road Baptist Church, on Friday November 4, 2022, at 571 S. Tyler Road, Wichita, KS 67209, at 10:00 am.
She loved flowers so flowers are welcome but a donation to your favorite charity or church in memory of her will also be appreciated. Though, nothing is required but your fond memory of her.
