Diie and Gene were the bright spot in our lives in Augusta. We miss them.

Dixie will long be remembered, I worked with her at Priaire State Bank.  My prayers are with the familes.

Donna, may you find comfort knowing your mother will be with you in spirit always. I loved her  and I'm honored to know and work with her for so many years. It's seems like it was just yesterday that she invited me to her 80th birthday party held in the lobby of Prairie State Bank.  She will be missed dearly. So very sorry to hear about Dixie.  I absolutely loved working with her at Prairie State Bank.  She was a tough negotiator but the salesmen loved her too!  I have missed her and her smile a lot since she retired. I know she's in a better place.

I had the pleasure of working with Dixie at Prairie State Bank, as did my mother Venita Miller and my Grandmother Lillian Stevenson.  We all enjoyed Dixie's warm smile and great recepies.  I have many of Dixie's receipies in my collection and always remember her fondly whenever I run accross one.

One day at the bank I got a call for Elizabeth Fisher.  I explained that we did not have any employee by that name.  After I hung up, others advised me that Dixie's real name was Elizabeth.  I will never forget the sweet story Dixie told me when I apologized.  She explained to me that when she and your dad first met she was working at a beauty shop called "Dixie's".  Your dad just assumed her name was Dixie, so he called her that ever since.  She said she just didn't have the heart to correct him.  Makes me laught even today.
