Dwight "Tommy" Thompson

Thompson, Dwight H., 87, was born January 31, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas, and passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Dwight was actively involved in agriculture, and had a passion for music of the Big Band era of the 30’s and 40’s. He was an avid collector of those recordings. Dwight also loved the game of golf. Dwight was greatly loved by staff members who cared for him at Life Care Center of Wichita. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was preceded by his parents, his wife Doris M. (Horsley) Thompson; a daughter Holly Thompson; sisters Jane T. Spines and Martha T. Healy; and is survived by step-sons John (Linda) Horsley and Richard (Kathy) Horsley; brother Willard ‘Bill’ (Barbara) Thompson. Visitation Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4 – 7 p.m., with family available from 6 – 7 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Saturday February 28, 2015 at Hillside Christian Church, 8330 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67206. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita.
