He was born October 20,1932, in Quinter, Kansas, where he lived until graduating high school. He later moved to Wichita, Kansas which became his forever home.
He served 2 years in the United States Army as a Telecommunications Technician. After serving, he was employed by Southwestern Bell/AT&T, where he was a journeyman and installer. He retired in 1986 with over 30 years of service. He was an avid bowler and very active in his church.
Dwayne is survived by 3 daughters: Diane Napier, Sheryl Smith both from Colorado, Debbie Potts and son in law Bob from Wichita; 5 Grandchildren; 11 Great -Grandchildren; 1 Great -Great -Grandchild and is preceded by his wife, Ruth; his parents, Earl and Beulah Smith; his brother, John Smith; and sister, Earlene Franz.
A visitation for Dwayne will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
