Saum, Duane F., 71, born November 17, 1944 to Frank and Irma Saum, passed away April 10, 2016. From an early age Duane cultivated his passion of cars by working with his father at his car dealership, he built his first car when he was thirteen, later shifting his interest to high performance vehicles. He served in the Viet Nam war with the United States Army, and during his career he was awarded a purple heart and was part of the 1st Air Calvary. After returning back to the U.S., he continued his career as a machinist and fabricator and eventually opened Saum Engineering that he would own and operate for close to 40 years. He was a loving father and papa and will be dearly missed. He was preceded by his parents. Duane is survived by daughter, Tonya (Bill Edwards) Saum; sister, Connie (Mike) Clark; and granddaughter Kathryn Edwards. Memorial service 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at VFW Post 3115, 4801 W.
