Goddard KS on September 21,1940 to Hubert Ast and Clara (Rausch) Ast.
God blessed Duane and his wife of over 50 years June (Miller) Ast with 3 children,6 grandchildren and
9 great-grandchildren. He worked at Detroit Diesel for the majority of his career as a transmission
specialist. Serving in the Army National Guard fostered a hobby of building military aircraft and tank
models. In the early years Duane enjoyed taking his family fishing and in his later years he enjoyed
taking the grandchildren to Watson park to ride the ponies. His grandchildren also inspired a new hobby
of photography.
He is preceded in death by his parents, spouse, daughter, son, and granddaughter.
He is survived by his son Duane (Peggy) Ast Jr grandchildren Mysti (Dustin) Noll, Desiree (Christopher)
Foxwell, Miranda (David) Neff, Lindsay (Evan) Bryan, Denae (Jim) Beatrice and 9 great grandchildren.
Brothers Ken (Ruby) Ast, Terry (Mary Ann) Ast, Randy (Kelsey) Ast and Sisters Joan Edson, Jean
Hein, Jane Blick, Judy (Jim) Graves, and June (Leroy) Anderson.
A visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday, August 8th, 2022 at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt
Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic, Wichita, KS 67211. The funeral service will take place, also at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N. Maize Rd Wichita, KS 67212.
