Dorothy May Perry, 85, left this world on Thursday, November 11, 2021. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved husband, Harold and with all of her heavenly family and friends, welcoming her into her new and glorious eternal home.
She was born on January 12, 1936 in Sycamore, Ohio to John and Thelma Ritchey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of four children, eleven grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Dorothy and Harold served the community for many years as Youth Leaders in their church. They also served the Lord by doing missionary work in several foreign countries. They were a big part of the Church of God Project Partner Organization. Dorothy’s career included both Floral Design (creating beautiful flower arrangements) and being a partner in her husband’s entrepreneurial ventures. She had an adventurous passion for traveling. Her favorite places were Branson, Mo (Silver Dollar City) and Disney World. Dorothy loved the holidays. Her number one holiday was Christmas. Her family and friends called her the “Christmas Queen”. She loved decorating! The more decorations the better!
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Perry; parents, John and Thelma Ritchey; and brothers, John and William Ritchey.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Steve) McKnight and their three children, Christopher (Andrena) Scholl, Clifton (Kori) Scholl and Kaitlynn (Cory) Beckham; daughter, Teresa (Jim) Clough and their two children, Brandon (Valari) Clough and Chereese (Russell) Voise; daughter, Amber Shank and her three children, Joe, Jack and Mia Shank; son, Brent (Myra) Perry and their three children, Chelsea (Phil) Ebner, Meagan (Ryan) Bremer and Madison (Chris) Perry; and, of course all her beautiful great-grandchildren.
A come and go visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54 Wichita, Kansas 67209.
