Born June 14, 1928 in Roslyn, South Dakota, passed away June 16, 2016. Dorothy worked in the First Baptist Church nursery for 28 years. Her pride and Joy were her day care children, some of those children were a third generation of daycare families, and she loved them as much as her own children. Dorothy and Tony enjoyed bowling together in their younger days, as well as being an avid bingo player even when she didn’t win. She was known for her cooking, especially her cinnamon rolls and bread. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Anton “Tony” Dargatz and son, Donald Dargatz. She is survived by children, Mona (Bruce) Greenhalgh of Aberdeen South Dakota, Dennis Dargatz (Connie) of Greenwich, KS, Linda Mitchell and Trish Long (Burt) of Haysville, KS, Janice (Leo) Schuckman and Michael Dargatz of Wichita, KS; 25 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren & 6 great great-grandchildren. Viewing for family & friends will be June 19, 2016 from 2-4 p.m., 3 p.m. rosary, and funeral service June 20, 2016 at 10 a.m all will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209. The family would like to invite guests to share a memory in the form of a picture or letter for placement with Dorothy in her final resting place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Dorothy to Anthony Care Center of Anthony Kansas and may be sent in care of Resthaven. A gathering at Sedgwick County Park will immediately follow the service, meat will be provided, and guests are welcome to bring a side dish to share if you are able to attend.
