Doris E. Fleetwood

Doris E. Fleetwood, 87, met Jesus face to face on November 29, 2016. Doris was born to Ora and Everett Williams on February 8, 1929 in Ava, Missouri. She married Sam Fleetwood and they raised up five children: David (Sharon Harris), Kenneth (Dianna), Roney (Lynette), Sharon Wood (Chuck) and Shirley Warren (Dan). When Dad passed after 30 years of marriage, Mom pressed on with determination. She learned how to drive and worked diligently as a housekeeper at Riverside Hospital for 15 years until her retirement. Mom left us a legacy of faith, hope, love, integrity and peace. Her riches were her children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and spouses, 28 great grandchildren and spouses, and 3 great, great grandchildren. She loved, cherished and valued each of them. Mom loved Jesus and her church family at Central Avenue United Methodist Church. She especially looked forward to the sweet fellowship and delicious lunches they often shared together. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister, her husband, Sam and 2 sons David and Roney. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, one sister, Goldie Burns, treasured nieces and nephews and dear friends. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 and Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 both at Resthaven Mortuary.
