Donald "Don" C. Richardson, age 82, of Wichita, Kansas went to heaven on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Don was born May 13, 1939. He served in Okinawa during The Vietnam Conflict as an Air Traffic Controller. After honorable discharge, he went to work with The Federal Aviation Administration, retiring after 34 years of service. Don was a champion Dog Trainer and received several accolades of achievement for canine obedience training, specializing in Doberman Pinschers. He showed all over the United States and Canada. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by parents Opie and Opal Richardson; step-daughter Veronica Elsten; grandchildren Jason Bowmaker and Robert Shelton III. He is survived by his wife of 34 and a half years, Mary; son Roger (Melissa) Richardson and daughter, Julie (Brady) McCoy; step-daughters Denna Bowmaker and Debra Stevenson; son-in-law David Bowmaker; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 9am, Monday, January 17th at Cross Point Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am, Monday, January 17th at Cross Point Free Will Baptist Church, 1515 E Harry St, Wichita, KS 67211. Graveside Service will be held at 1:30pm, Monday, January 17th at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
