FRISBIE, Donald C. “Don”, 86, retired SW Bell Telephone Company Switchman, peacefully passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Clarebridge. Don was a Corpsman with the U.S. Navy, attached to the Marine Corps and served on Iwo Jima where he earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Preceeded in death by wife of 57 years, Julia “Judy” Frisbie, parents Herb Frisbie and Fern Dow; sisters Ruth Howard and Lula Mae Miles, and brother Bernie Frisbie. He is survived by his sister, Maxine (Bill) Wolf; sons Don (Jolene) Frisbie, Pasco, WA, Doug Frisbie, Indianapolis, IN, daughter Jan (Mike) McClure, Wichita; grandchildren Julie (Stephan) Abedi, Kim (Daniel) Carson, Alexa Frisbie, Morgan Frisbie, Donald Frisbie, Erica (Eric) Vail, Shawn McClure; 6 great-grandchildren, 7 nephews, and his faithful and loyal dog, Bugsy. Visitation is Tues. 3 to 6 pm and Wed. 6 to 8 pm with family present. Funeral service is 1:00 pm Thursday, January 26 at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff and assistants at Clarebridge and Hospice Care of Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with the Wichita Air Museum and the Mid America All Indian Center.
