Bartu, Donald D., 83, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 surrounded by family. Don was born in Arcadia, NE. After serving 26 years in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force, he ultimately retired from Kansas Job Service where he worked with military veterans. Don’s passions were his family and aviation. He loved to fly and would share his love of airplanes with everyone. Don did not know a stranger and loved sharing stories. He especially loved sharing stories with his grandchildren. Don was very proud of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Agnes Bartu and brother, Dwain. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharyn; his daughter, Donna; sons, Scott and James; as well as six grandchildren. Private family services will be held. Memorials have been established with Envision and Youth Horizon.
