Dolores Juanita Larson Huckins

Dolores “Dee” Huckins, 86, passed away Jan. 29, 2017. Born in Americus, KS to Walter and Velma Larson. She was the fourth of six children. She attended Emporia schools thru grade 6 then Wichita schools, graduating from North High in 1948. She married Harold Huckins, Jr. shortly after graduating. They had one beloved daughter, Judy Ann. Dee worked several years at Boeing Engineering Publications as an artist. Being a wife and mother was her true calling. She had been a Girl Scout leader, Vice President of Valley Center’s Business and Professional Women’s Club, a member of St. Jude Catholic Church Alter Society, serving as President of the North Wichita Deanery. With her daughter, Judy she operated a photography studio in Wellington where she was a member of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, and the Soroptimist Club. Dee is survived by her son-in-law, Steve Clark; sister, Corrine (Russell) Nagel; several nieces and nephews. Rosary Sun. 5 p.m., Funeral Mass 9 a.m. Mon. both at St. Jude Catholic Church. Committal Service following at 1 p.m. at Americus Cemetery in Americus, KS. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.
