Derek's very first job was at Stroot's in Goddard. Derek loved cars, especially in his spare time working on his 2002 Silverado. He worked at O'Reilly's and AutoZone in sales. He was a volunteer firefighter in Clearwater, Kansas. He also was a sheriff's cadet for Sedgwick County. Derek enjoyed riding his and his dad's motorcycle, listening to music, camping, fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his family, especially his little brothers and cousins. Derek never met a stranger.
He leaves behind his parents, Jason Greenlee and Kamile Yarger; three brothers, Kaleb Greenlee, Colin Greenlee, and Alex Greenlee; grandparents, Robert and Michelle Greenlee, Terry Asher, and Tracy and Craig Morris; three aunts, Krista "Aunt K K" and Eric Konigmacher, Melissa Greenlee, and Kala and Jace Westerman; one uncle, Bobby Morris; cousins, Preston and Ensley, Henry and Owen; and many other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy. 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10:00 AM, at Central Community Church, 6100 W. Maple St., Wichita, KS 67209.
