My mother (Flora Britton) unknown 2nd cousin.  She was raised in an orphanage in Scotland during the war and then immigrated to Canada where she married my father (Roderick McKenzie).
I am the family genealogist.  Looking for any info on the Britton's that immigrated to Kansas from Scotland?

I am the family genealogist.  David is my mothers 2nd cousin.  My mother (Flora Britton b. 1925 - d. 2008) was raised in a orphanage in Glasgow during the war years.  She immigrated to Canada and of course married my father.
Until recently we had no idea there was a number of Britton's that emigrated to the Kansas area - including David.  All of these individuals have since passed away and I have not found any way to contact their relatives. The memorial service for David was so nice. The stories Rodney and Jim shared gave me a deeper awareness of this wonderful man.  David was only acquainted with our family for a few years but brought a unique friendship and much happiness to my mom, Emma Lou.  We all enjoyed sharing holidays and birthdays with David. He loved the idea that my son, Austin was going to be a pilot and David enjoyed sharing his love of travel with our family! 
He was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by all who had the privledge of knowing him.

My sincere condolences on David's passing. As my uncle and early mentor in the Kansas Air National Guard Dave's standard for excellence and love of aircraft was second to none. I am honored to have worked with him and learned from him, a veteran of many U.S conflicts either directly or indirectly, he is a national hero. I salute you Col Britton and am truly proud to have called you uncle David!

So sorry to see  David's passing. He was probably one of the last people who lived in the Central, Stevens, Kelly st. area during the 1930's and was a good friend of all of us who lived in the area.
He will be missed by all.

Jim and family, Our condolences on Dave's passing.  He and our Aunt Marge had a wonderful marriage for so many years.  We have fond memories of the  family visits in Wichita when Ida, Bert and Margaret would come for special events and Marge and Dave would host the gatherings.  They have all passed on now but the memories last in us.  He was a wonderful guy.
