Carlson, Dale J. was made whole on September 19th. Dale was born September 20, 1928 in Wichita KS to Frank and Myrtle Carlson. He was a lifelong Wichitan graduating from East High and attended Friends University. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Dale was retired from Cessna Aircraft after more than 40 years. He was member of Linwood and Indian Hills Churches of the Nazarene where he ran the sound systems. He was involved in calling ministry, bus ministries, and served a lay pastor in the church. He enjoyed amateur radio, fishing, photography, and camping. He delighted in bringing smiles and joy as he portrayed Santa Claus for his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends alike. He is survived by wife Patricia, children Dalrona (Rick) Harrison, Leale Carlson of Derby, Erik (Trisha); step-children Yvette (Keith) Shipley of Leon, Jesse James of Andover. Grandchildren and their children Abby (Matt) Wood, Addison and Hanna of Haysville, Kody and Ella Carlson; Step-grandchildren and their children: Ashley (Earnest) Knight E.J., Cooper, Zachary of Elmore City OK, Sarah and Jessica Shipley of Towanda, Lee (Sarah) James, Dylan of Andover, Elizabeth (Blake) LePard of Anthony, Monica (Sean) McGuffin, Summer. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Deloyd, sister Orletta Angle, his wives Ramona Bryant Carlson and Shirley West Carlson. Services will be held at Indian Hills Church of the Nazarene 1515 N. McLean Wichita with burial at Resthaven cemetery. Viewing at Resthaven Mortuary Sunday 12-8pm with family present 3-5 pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association 347 S. Laura Wichita KS.
