Cristi was born in Wichita, KS on January 13, 1970, the daughter of Philip and Lani (née Goldston) Catalano, where she lived for most of her life.
Cristi had a taste for the finer yet simpler things in life as well a sense of humor that many would find questionable. She had a soft spot for little old ladies and could make any stranger's day wherever she went. She showed compassion for those who had less.
Cristi loved early morning coffee and watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard. She loved her plants, her Corvette and her vast collections of oddball trinkets. She loved Prince, Frank Zappa, ACDC, and she “hated the f@#&ing Eagles, man.” She had a razor-sharp tongue and an attitude that matched, but those acquainted with her knew they had someone in their corner who was always ready to fight for them.
Cristi is survived by her husband, Doug; son, Austin, and daughter Bethany of Wichita, Kansas; her mother, Lani (John) McGrew of Norman, Oklahoma; sister, Karen (Shannon) Hart of Littleton, Colorado; brothers: Tony (Annie) Catalano of Overland Park, Kansas, and Philip (Shelly) Catalano of Edmond, Oklahoma; Aunts Kelley (Dan) Pilone & Kim Buckley-Neary both of Apple Valley, CA.; beloved nieces & nephews.
Cristi is preceded in death by her father, Philip Catalano Sr. and grandmother, Betty Burdette.
Her cremation will take place at Lakeview Funeral Home & Cemetery and her ashes to be inurned at the Lakeside Estates of Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory. Those desiring may make contributions in her honor to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Her family will announce a Celebration of Life service for family and friends at a future date.
"You've got to be digging it while it's happening 'cause it just might be a one shot deal."
