Corina May Smith, age 72, passed away April 13, 2021. She was born on May 21, 1948 to Cletus A. and Cora M. Brayfield in Springfield, Missouri. Corina was a devoted wife, mother, sister, nana and friend who will be dearly missed. She loved spending time with her family; especially her great grandchildren. She was in the choir and a long time member of West Side Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Robert "Bob" Hurst; grandma, Ida Howe; and grandson, James Burnett Jr. Corina is survived by her husband, Steve Smith; daughters, Drina (John) Metcalf and Stephanie (Robert) Cornett; sisters, June (Gus) Fanning and Wanda (Monte) Hoover; uncle, Leo (Patsy) Howe; aunt, June Howe; grandchildren, Tasha (Frank) Newingham, Alyssa Johnston, Tiffany Cornett, Zack (Kristen) Johnston, Brandon Shellenberger, Natasha (Jorge) Torres, Tiffany (Cortez) Carr, and Elizabeth Metcalf; great grandchildren, Nickole, Ashlyn, Josiah, Xeryth, Hazel, Uriah, Everly, Isabel, Yuna and Micah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A come and go visitation will be available from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, Friday, April 23, 2021. Funeral service will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, April 24th, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Corina's memory can be made to West Side Church of God, 1900 W McCormick St, Wichita, KS 67213; And/or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S Market St, Wichita, KS 67202.
