Sims, Conrad “Jack”, 90, of Andover, Kansas passed away Wednesday March 8, 2017 at his home in Andover. Jack was born the son of Orville and Leone Sims on February 18, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas. Jack and Betty (Baldwin) Sims were united in marriage in 1949. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2013. Jack served in the United States Navy during WWII. Jack retired after 40 years from the Wichita Eagle. After retiring Jack and Betty moved into their residence in Andover. He was not a carpenter by trade but he excelled as an excellent craftsmen. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter, Kristin (Ecord) Cole. Survivors include his loving children, Carol (Chuck) Ecord of Little Elm, TX, Susan (Tom) Richardson of Andover, Kelly (P.J.) Sims of Andover, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will on Sunday March 12, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday March 13, 2017 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Dignity Celebrant Cyndi Pearce will officiate. Burial will follow at Wichita Park Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, 3450 N. Rock Rd., Wichita.
