I’m so sorry for the loss of Chuck when I lived in Liberal, Kansas aI worked at the bank Chuck and I became best friends for several years. I remember buying a 1961 Corvette from Chuck.. I tried to find Chuck a few years ago, but I just couldn’t find him wished I would’ve had a chance to talk to him or see him again.

Chuck was an incredible friend even if only for a season of our lives. We shared so much hanging out, going out to eat, going to car shows.  I'm so thankful for the memories, the laughs, joys, but most of all the conversations about life. His insight, wisdom, and advice. In 2003 work took me away from Wichita and I've never had a friend like him since.  A person is blessed if they have one, maybe two REAL friends in a lifetime. Chuck was one of those for me. Thank you Chuck, and God bless you and keep you brother. Prayers for Kathy and family. 

I have had the pleasure of knowing Chuck for the last 17+ years.  He was one of the many amazing volunteers our dear friend Carl Fry roped into a car show or two or several dozen to benefit The Arc (now AbilityPoint). From Century II, to Exploration Place, Cow Town the zoo and back to Century II, Chuck was there to help make the event a success in anyway he could.  He would be one of the first there and last to leave.

He then got involved with the Ks Sunflower Swap meet and again was a fixture daily at the event.

As much as we loved his hard work, it was his wit, wisdom and sense of humor that made him a favorite.  He’d share that smile and always had a story. He connected with many of the self advocates served by The Arc and made them feel included, valued and appreciated. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kathy, their family and his countless friends.  We were blessed to have him be a part of our lives and know his spirit will live on in our hearts and in every event he was such an important part of.

Chuck was a one of the good guys.  I worked for Chuck as an associate of Walmart and then had the privilege to work beside him as an assistant manager. 

One thing I’ll never forget was has a new manager, Chuck along with another manager Bill Gish, took me under their wing.  There were many times that I wasn’t sure if it was to educate the green horn on life so they could make fun of me or if it was to teach me lessons.  I’m going to go with the making fun of me part mostly, while teaching many lessons.  Chuck taught me that it was ok to have fun at work and it’s ok to bring out the human side.  His methods like taking me to lunch at Michelle’s beach house  may have been  unconventional but it was loads of fun. 

Chuck was a good father and grandfather and he always showed love for his kids.  And I remember  he loved his Buicks. 

Here’s to a good guy and I would tell him today, fun is still a key element I bring into the workplace.

I will miss him so much. Chuck was my manager at Walmart. He invited me to drive my car through his car club in our city parade. We had so much fun , great memories. My love and prayers to the family and friends. 

Heartfelt condolences to Kathy and the family.  Chuck was more than a friend to everyone in the car hobby that knew him.  Being a fellow member and former officer of the Buick Club of America, he was known across the country for his passion for cars, especially Buicks.  He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. I remember the day I bought his 1984 Riviera convertible. The car was 30 years old when I bought it, EASILY the cleanest car I've ever owned. Every time I spoke with him, he always made me feel included and important.  
You will be missed, my FRIEND.

Chuck was a really nice guy and I always enjoyed meeting with him and Kathy at the Reatta meets and a couple of times in Wichita.
I think he still owes me a beer although Chuck would say "i owed him"
The first time I met Chuck in person was at a Buick meet in Plano TX, I am from Duluth MN, and Chuck asked me if I had, at home, any of the small blue buttons that covered the snaps on the early Reatta floor mats. I reached in my pocket and took some out and asked him how many he needed.
I believe Kathy made this shirt patch for that meet.
Chuck will be greatly missed.

I worked for him back in the day at wal mart. He was awesome guy with a lot of knowledge. He used give me advice how to better do my job. Had a few laughs too. He was a great boss. My condolences to the whole family. Heaven gained a good guy. God bless 

Chuck is the one who hired me at Derby Wal-Mart 28 years ago. But I worked with him at Woolco back in 1975 (he worked in the camera dept). He was a good and fun manager to work for! Kathy you and your family are in my prayers......today and the days ahead.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember him at my Mom's funeral. He was so compassionate and caring. I felt it necessary to drive to the edge of the world for his Mom's funeral. I'd never seen him that close to tears and him telling me how much my being there meant. He was always my favorite Manager at Derby Wal-Mart. He gave as good as he got. I still remember him climbing up on the roof to help us raise money for Children's Miracle Network. I know right now he's setting up there wondering what all the fuss over him is about. He will be missed, but He Will Be Remembered.

Enjoyed working with chuck. Susie and myself played tricks on him .  He took it well.  Cathy I am sorry for your loss.

It is truly a sad time for all of us who loved Chuck. It is especially sad for Kathy.
Our prayers are for her now because Chuck is finally rid of his suffering.
 The car community has lost one of its own and he was one of the best. Chuck was a gentleman in all respects. He made everyone around him feel “important” and maintained honest humor and knowledge. He was also “Mr Buick” to all of us Buick owners and contributed to our passion at a National Level. Just the thought of not going to lunch with Chuck makes me cry. What a hoot we had driving down Douglas at midnight after Automobilia and all the help with our shows and the swap meet. So many wonderful memories flash by as I type this…What a ride! What a life! Thanks Chuck.
Chuck was my friend and we miss him already.
Rest in peace Chuck, you will not be forgotten.

Chuck was a great Buick Club of America member, honest and always helpful in the club, sharing of his knowledge, and was a main force behind the Springfield Missouri BCA National Meet. 

Chuckles will be missed. Thanks for letting me drive your Reatta in the Riverfest! You were an expert on trivia too. Amazed me. Rest in peace. 


Chuck was such a joy to work with at the Derby Wal-Mart. He was one of my favorite managers. He would give me crap and I would give it right back. He was a hard worker. When he would get worked up he would get so red in the face. Chuck you are loved by many including me. Fly high and spread your wings. You will be truly missed by so many family and friends. 
To chucks family, you all are in my prayers.
