Christian Michael Downing

Christian Micheal Downing, born on January 13, 1977, in Wichita, Kansas, passed away at the age of 47 on June 26, 2024, in the same city that witnessed his first breath. A man of exceptional creativity and intelligence, Christian was not only devoted to his career as a carpenter but also thrived as a business owner, channeling his passion into his work for over two decades.

Christian's life was a testament to his hardworking, loving, and respectful nature. He was a history buff who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as playing guitar, engaging in games of Magic, and losing himself in video games. Above all, spending time with his children and grandchildren was where he found his greatest happiness.

Christian leaves behind a loving family, including his parents, Rebecca Suter, Neil Suter, and Carl Roseborough; his children, Bryan Elms ( Brittni ) , Tydon Downing, Alexandria Downing, Elizabeth Norton, and Tragen Downing; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaleah Brasher ,Kylan Brasher , Xander Elms , and Mazikeen Elms . He also leaves behind his siblings, Adam Packard, Deandre Roseborough, Damicheal Roseborough, Katasha Cherry, and Carmesha Roseborough. Christian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Alice Downing, and Judy Suter, as well as his nephew Marcel Williams and cousin Alex Suter.

The family invites friends and loved ones to gather and share memories at Resthaven, located at 11800 W Kellogg St, Wichita, KS 67209. Viewing will be held on July 8, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by the funeral service on July 9, 2024, at 10:30 am.

A visitation for Christian will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Resthaven Mortuary with a graveside service to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
