76, of Wichita, Kansas passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 1, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. A family graveside service has been held. A celebration of Charles' life will be held at a memorial service in Wichita, Kansas at Resthaven Chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Don Fry officiating. Earth's Loss is Heaven's Gain. Charles was blessed with a birth family, an adopted family and the family he married into. Charles was born in Exeter, Missouri to Charlie and Belvia Laney on August 31, 1939. Charles was adopted June 6, 1952, by Eugene and Marguerite Lane after his father passed away. Charles is preceded in death by his birth parents, adopted parents, brother Claude Lane and survived by his sister, Sharon Richards, Wichita, KS. and sister-in-law Ellen Newman of Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by the love of his life of 58 plus years, Sue (Moyer) Lane. The pride of his life was his three sons- Ron (Carrie) Lane, Wichita, KS, Mark (Bobbi) Lane, Augusta, GA, and Steve (Angie) Lane, Edmond, OK. The joy of his life were his 7 grandchildren- Brian, Shawna (Chris), Brandon, Brianna (Nick), Travis (Montana), Ashley (Nic) and Jordan (Rain) and his 10 great-grandchildren- Jaycie, Taylor, Gavin, Liam, Averie, Tristen, Greyson, Mason, Preston and Victoria with 2 more on the way. He was also blessed to have a very close relationship with his "brothers and sisters" by marriage, Harley and Jane Krager, Charlie and Gwen Moyer, Don and Roxie Fry, Jean Moyer, nieces, nephews, cousins and the many friends in his life who loved him dearly. Charles retired from C. Lane Trucking, subcontractor of The Wichita Eagle for 40 plus years. He had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was a master gardener. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorial donations be made to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 9920 E. Harry, Wichita, KS 67207.
