Dick was raised in Aurora, Missouri. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1963. Shortly after being honorably discharged he moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked at Cessna Aircraft. He then joined the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office in 1969. One of his major accomplishments while serving was being one of the first trainers with the newly established Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center. Dick served 27 years and retired at the rank of sergeant.
Dick married the love of his life Pamela on January 23, 1970 and together they shared 51 years together.
He enjoyed traveling with Pamela, snow birding in Arizona, scuba diving, woodworking, bike and motorcycle riding, and spending time with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Pamela.
Dick will be missed by many friends and colleagues.
A graveside service will be held at 10AM on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209
