Celina J. Salazar

Salazar, Celina J., 92, of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully on Wed. Feb. 25, 2015 at her home surrounded by family in Wichita. Celina was born on Nov. 7, 1922 in Wagon Mound, New Mexico the daughter of Rosendo and Clara Martinez. Celina and Simon Salazar were united in marriage in 1943 in Wagon Mound, NM. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage before his passing in 1985. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and a friend to all. She will be missed by all who knew her. Celina was a foster grandparent for 28 years and greatly loved her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Leandro Martinez, Emma Vargas, Elsie Duran, Ralph Martinez, Sr., sons, Samuel E. Salazar, Robert L. Salazar I. Survivors include her companion, Ralph Barragon, children, Joe A. (Joni) Salazar, Linda C. (Armando) Rodriguez, Elsie M. Salazar, Marcella (Dan) Neal, Simon P. (Kathryn) Salazar, Jr., Robert Louis (Michelle) Salazar II, Lawrence W. (Deanna) Salazar, Viola (Stephen) Price, Priscilla A. (Anthony) Salazar, Walter M. “Chuck” (Stephanie) Salazar, David L. (Argelia) Salazar, siblings, Leroy Martinez, Louis Martinez, Herman Martinez, Rebecca Martinez, Mary Alice Franco, Amelia Rubio, Susie Pena, 44 grandchildren, 49+ great-grandchildren, 17+ great-great grandchildren and beloved dog companion Nino (Sister). Visitation will be held on Fri. Feb. 27, 2015 with family present from 6 to 8pm. Funeral services will be at 10am on Sat. Feb. 28, 2015 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita.
