Sue was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on December 11th, 1945 to Junita (Collins) Rouse and Stanley Arthur Rouse. She was preceded in death by mother, Junita (Collins) Clement; father and step-mother, Stanley and Lucille Rouse; husband, William Young Sr; her partner and love of 39 years, William “Bud” Watkins; brothers Eugene Rouse, William Ervin Rouse, John Rouse, George Collins; sisters Betty Rouse, Dorothy Rouse Rabedew; daughter-in-law Tanya Young.
Sue retired from Koch Engineering in 2002 where she made lifelong friendships. Sue enjoyed going to the farm with Bud where they spent time driving the countryside and feeding wildlife. She made many road trips with family and friends through the years. She liked tending her flower garden and being outdoors. One of Sue’s favorite things to do was spend time with her family, she loved them dearly. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son William Young Jr of Mulvane, Kansas; daughter Debbie Young Boldea of Wichita; brother Vernon Rouse (Trina) of Valley Center, Kansas; 3 grandsons, William Young Jr III (Skyliar), Wesley Young (Miranda) and Kyle Young (Gabby); 4 granddaughters, Alisha Young, Stefani Young (Cody), Ashley Young, and Megan Boldea Edwards (Jake); 8 great-grandchildren; Bud’s children whom she considered her family, Bill Watkins (Pam), Connie Watkins Davison (Gerald), their children and grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic, Wichita, KS 67211. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., also at DeVorss, Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Committal will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 6231 W. 47th St. S., Wichita, KS 67215.
