She married the love of her life James Bratt on June 5, 1961. Together they shared 62 years of marriage. Kay was a bus driver and trainer for school district USD 259 and retired from district USD 261 after 20 years.
Kay loved horses. Her passion was showing english, showing western, racing at the Bit and Spur, and going on trail rides. She was very crafty; she made clothes, hair pins, baked cakes, and made homemade birthday cards.
She and her husband Jim were foster parents to countless children in need of care and love.
The most important thing to Kay in life was her family, friends, and her beloved pets.
She was preceded in death by her mother Martha, father Homer, and her brother Stephen Mosley.
Survivors include her husband James Bratt; eldest son Jim Bratt, daughter Kim (John) Uerkvitz, son Jeff (Jimi) Bratt, daughter Juliann (Malcolm) Young; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two beloved dogs Lulu and Gizmo.
A visitation will be held Thursday December 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. A celebration of life service for Caroline will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Immediately following the service a graveside service will be held at Caldwell Cemetery, 1631 S.Sunflower Rd., Caldwell, Kansas 67022.
