Beverly K. Elder, age 79, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Beverly was born on September 24, 1943 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Alvin Leroy and Helen Carolina (Eubank) Cramer. Growing up, they lived in many communities in Kansas due to her father working for the railroad.
In 1961, she graduated from Newton High School. After graduation, Beverly moved to Wichita and attended Vernon's School of Cosmetology. She worked as a beautician for short time, eventually starting her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she retired after 30 years of service. After retirement, Beverly worked at Christopher & Banks, enjoyed volunteering with MGA and working the Sedgwick County Election office, where she attained a position as a Supervising Judge.
Beverly filled her freetime with diamond dots, shopping and cross-stitch. She enjoyed drinking coffee with her friends at Village Inn. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her life revolved around her them and she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Beverly had two daughters with her first husband. He would eventually adopted Beverly's first born daughter. They later divorced. In 1986, she met the love of her life, Richard Elder, who she married in 1993. They were able to spend many amazing years together until his death in 2009.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; sister, Carol Slattery; son-in-law, Timothy Tucker; and a grandson-in-law, Ryan Anderson.
Survivors include her daughters, Dana and husband, Larry Paxson, Darla and husband, Bobby Helms, Stacie and husband, Don Marquis; step-son, Tony and wife, Chantal Elder; grandchildren, Theresa Elder, Craig and wife, Megan Elder, Kayla and husband, Sean Sumner, Trenton and wife, Breana Tucker, Brett Tucker and fiance, Morgan VanGaal, Kaylee and husband, Jacob Weldon, Alyssa Tucker-Anderson, McKenna Marquis; great grandchildren, Hannah, Landon, Lincoln, Everlee, Lanie, Crue; brother, Alvin and wife, Jeanie Cramer; sisters, Patricia Bay, RaeAnn Brown; and her best friend, Juanita Rogers.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Funeral service will be at 10am Wednesday, May 31, both Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 East 13th Street, Wichita. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum. The family requests that those in attendance wear cheerful colors.
