Betty J., “Janie” Metz, 54 passed away January 12, 2014. She was born in Garden City, KS to Robert and Verda (Carpenter) Metz. Janie worked in banking and then found her true passion teaching elementary school. She was a loving, daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Janie had the patience of a lamb and loved to laugh. She is preceded in death by her father; Robert Metz. Survived by her mother; Verda (Willie) Stephens, husband; Dave Bowles, daughters; Mackenzie and Monica McLarthy-Metz, sister; Susan (James) Bowles. Memorial Service 2p.m. Friday, January 17, 2013 at Bethel Life Center, 3777 S. Meridian, Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers can be sent to the Lord’s Diner, 520 N. Broadway St. Wichita, KS 67214
