Betty graduated from Caney High School in 1950. After graduation she met and eventually married Calvin DeGarmo on March 24, 1951 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma until his death in 1984. She worked at Rea Woodman Elementary as a Special Needs Para-Professional for over 22 years.
Betty eventually met Bob Harvey and together they enjoyed retirement, traveling, casinos and running Thunderbird Lounge for many years until his death in 2000.
Betty was also preceded in death by a sister, Patty Winebrenner; brothers, Walter and Donald Deen; and a granddaughter, Danielle DeGarmo.
Survivors include her children, Rodney DeGarmo, Rhonda and husband Dan Armstrong, Jana and husband, Michael Wilhelm; sister, Bea Courtney; brother, John and wife, Shirley Deen; grandchildren, Taylor DeGarmo, Alexis Armstrong, Ian Wilhelm and Paige Wilhelm; 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to service time; funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., both on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Resthaven Mortuary. Burial will follow in Garden of Lord's Prayer.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
