Betty Lou Benton "Boots", passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Sarah Litke; brother, Jack Litke; and husband of 35 years, George Benton. She is survived by daughter Marty Leppke (Pat McClellan) and family, Stepchildren George Jr., Dena, Christie and families, sister-in-law, Patsy Litke and family. Boots grew up in Corn, Oklahoma. She played basketball during her school years and was in graduating high school class of seven. She would later settle her roots into a lifelong residency in Valley Center, Kansas. Betty worked at Ark Valley Bank, Fourth National bank and retired from Twin Lakes bank after 40 years of faithful duties as a teller. Betty was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star and earned her 50 year lifetime membership with the organization. She was also an avid basketball fan. Her favorite team was OU. As far as KS teams, She endearingly referred to the KU Jayhawks as the “birdies” and the K-State Wildcats as the “kitties”. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Sun. Nov. 29th, 2015 and funeral service will be 3 PM Monday, November 30th, 2015 both at Resthaven Mortuary; interment will be immediately following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
