Bertha "Shorty" Ayala, 90, retired Cessna sheet metal worker, went to be with the Lord, February 17, 2017. She was preceded by her husband of 63 years, Vidal Ayala; son, Dennis Ayala; parents, Charles (Victoria) Caire, infant sister, Jenny Caire; sister, Teresa Avila and brother, Carlos Caire. She is survived by her sons, Edward, John and Richard (Stephanie) Ayala; brother, Charles (Lola) Caire; sisters, Charlene (Hector) Monagas, Nancy (Marcelino) Camargo, Fanny (Clyde) Michel, and Lucy (George) Resendez; ten grandchildren; three, and one more expected soon, great grandchildren. She was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to cook for and care for her family. Bertha was a longtime member of the Westlink Christian Church. She was a selfless woman who was deeply devoted to her family and friends; she would not hesitate to lend a helping hand if they were in need. She will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thurs. Feb. 23, and funeral service 1 p.m. Fri. Feb. 25, 2017 both at Resthaven Mortuary.
