age 87, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses, Kansas. Anna was born on April 11, 1934, the daughter of James Henry and Ada (Dunegan) Ashley, in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
Anna was a woman of many talents. She loved to do quilting, needle point, cross stitch, knitting and cooking. She did volunteer work for the DAV, Grant County Senior Center including quilting quilts and making baby blanket for new babies in the county, Pink lady for the local hospital auxiliary and gift shop, and other organizations. She has given many self made gifts to family and friends and won several blue and grand prize ribbons at county and state fairs with her crafts. Anna and John were married on Friday June 13, 1952 after only knowing each other 13 days. In February 1954 they were blessed with twin boys. They were together for 65 years. They moved to Ulysses in 1993 from Colorado Springs.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. Button; brothers, Ellis, David, and Phines "Tom" Ashley; and a sister, Lela Tibbs.
Survivors include: brother, James V. and wife, Cathy Ashley, Derby, Kansas; sons, Ron and wife, Carolyn Button, Redmond, Washington and Don and wife, Vivian Button, Ulysses, Kansas; foster daughter, Ellen and husband, Kent Pitcher, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, both at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic, Wichita, Kansas. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, at Grant County Cemetery, Ulysses, Kansas.
