Alvin Louis Beat, age 91 passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was born on October 21, 1932 in Murdock, Kansas to Henry and Barbara (Heitz) Beat. Alvin was employed at Kansas Gas and Electric as a Quality Assurance Manager for 35 years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Alvin was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4118. He was an avid baseball fan, mainly the Cubs and Royals. He loved to spend time fishing with his sons and grandson. In 1968 he was married to Judith "Judy" Wadsworth at St. Mary's Cathedral in Wichita, Kansas. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy and his siblings: brothers, Robert, Ernest, Gerald, Leo, Eugene; sisters: Dorothy and Alice; grandson, Brock Beat. He is survived by his sons: David and Daniel Beat; sister, Jane (Tom) Bailie. Rosary: 7 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024; Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N. Socora St., Wichita, Kansas 67212. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lord's Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas 67214.
