Alice was born in Hardin, Montana on March 28th, 1941 to Gottlieb and Pauline (Wiederspan) Hert. She was one of eleven children and grew up on the family farm north of Hardin attending Community School and Hardin High School. Alice was confirmed and attended the Christ Evangelical & Reformed Church. After graduating high school Alice went to live with her brother-in-law and sister Donnie, and Ruby Gable in Texas. It was here she met and married the man she would spend her life with, Howard Malone. Howard and Alice raised three sons: Dennis, Scott and Earl Malone. Howard’s career in the Army led them to several duty stations across the US and in Germany where Alice supported Howard’s military career as well as serving as a Cub Scout leader, an officer for Protestant Women of the Chapel and selling Avon. After Howard’s retirement from the Army, Alice enjoyed her 25-year career as a Household Manager.
Alice was the kindest, most loving and caring person you could ever meet and was loved by all who knew her. She was the heart of her family and family meant the world to her. She found great joy with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they all looked forward to her handmade birthday cakes and snuggle time. Alice made every Thanksgiving and Christmas special by preparing elaborate meals for the entire family. She was well known for baking the best banana bread and having a green thumb with plants. Alice will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
Alice is survived by her brother, Harold Hert; sons: Dennis (Patti) Malone and Earl (Kathy) Malone; grandchildren: Travis (Jessica) Malone, Melissa (Kevin) Veltri, Molly Goings, Tanner Malone, Thomas (Megan) Malone, Kyle (Melissa) Malone, Elliotte Burns, Tyler (Daphne) Malone, Alex (Teresa) Malone and Mallorie (Michael) Layton; great-grandchildren; Natalie (Neptune) Malone, Ruby Malone, Mackenzie Veltri, Vincent Veltri, Marissa Oglesby, Scott Goings, Henry Malone, Landon Burns, Emery Burns, Charles Malone, Samuel Malone, Annie Malone, Eleanor Malone, Jaxen Layton, Emmett Layton, Hudson Layton, Elijah Layton, Greyson Layton, Oliver Malone and Archie Malone.
