Carpenter, Alfred C. “Sonny” & Pauline M. of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018. Al was born the son of Alfred and Dorothy (Dailey) Carpenter in Oaklawn, California and Pauline was born the daughter of Eugene and Mable (Purdon) Richard in Walnut, Kansas. The couple were married on May 17, 1986 in El Dorado, Kansas and spent the next 32 years together, along with their loving children. Pauline and Al were happiest when they were together, as was apparent in every photo taken of them.
Al and Pauline were preceded in death by their son-in-law, Robert Lee; grandson, Cody Lee; and great-grandson, Jason McGoldrick. Al was also preceded in death by his two brothers, William and David Carpenter; and sister, Dale Carpenter. Pauline was also preceded in death by her sisters, MaryAnn Elbrader and Margarette (Jim) Eberhart.
Survivors include their daughters, Peggy (Mike) Biggs, Shelley Reep, Sharon (Kevin) McGoldrick, Rita (Rick M.) Griffith, and Kristi Lee; son, Brian (Mone) Carpenter; grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Helm, Nicholas (Kristy) Biggs, Amanda (Mitchell) Ward, Trevor (Leslie) Wells, Corey Wells, Olivia Medaris, Miles Medaris, Michael (Melissa) McGoldrick, Kyle (Brittany) McGoldrick, Tasha Carpenter, Brent Perkins, Sherri Perkins, Justin Lee, Jayme (Bryce) Anderson, Paige Lee White, Kyle Lee, Gage Lee, and Troy Lee. The couple also leaves behind 23 great-grandchildren to cherish their memory. Al is survived by a brother, Danny (Amy) Carpenter; and sister, Debra (Will) Santacrose. Pauline is survived by sisters, Regina (Larry) Edson, Kate (George) Stonerock; brother-in-law, Lloyd Elbrader; and best friend, Saga Cushman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church at 145 S. Millwood Ave, Wichita, Kansas 67213; The Lord’s Diner at 520 N. Broadway St, Wichita, Kansas 67214; or Alzheimer’s Association at 1820 E. Douglas Ave, Wichita, Kansas 67214.
Rosary Service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 6:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 4411 W. Maple St., Wichita, Kansas on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00am with private interment to follow.
